Built Environment

Promoting a market for secondary raw materials, encouraging the application of circular business models along the value chain as well as highlighting the importance of clean energy in achieving such circularity are the crucial aspects of S&P's work on the built environment. The construction sector holds the biggest share of waste in Europe, which is mainly directed towards downcycling. Moreover, the foreseen future scarcity of primary raw materials, alongside a current environmentally demanding extraction process, urge us to explore alternative ways of producing construction materials with a circular approach.

The construction industry is still not fully aware of the potential which innovation and research in the circular economy offer. Schuttelaar & Partners engages and connects stakeholders thanks to a wide range of expertise in communication, public affairs and strategy, to bridge this knowledge gap and create awareness and synergies.
